The meeting began with a welcome to Senior Sergeant Simone Carter of the Queensland Police.

Simone discussed her role with the group. Simone manages many projects in the Far North that focus on preventative strategies related to Crime Prevention, Road Safety, and work in Indigenous Communities etc.

The exchange between CFN and Simone was extremely positive and fitted with the values of the group focussing on working collaboratively and positively with all agencies impacting on the provision of facilities for cycling and safety of cyclists.

We discussed the very successful Share the Road campaign and its impending launch.

Simone outlined the local projects related to cycling that were receiving support from Queensland Police.

An issue of the long term sustainability of projects was discussed particularly as it relates to CFN and Police collaborative project in establishing a cyclist's website.

The meeting by Simone as a representative of the Queensland Police with CFN Executive was seen by members as being most valuable and achieved the establishment of a strong supportive relationship.
